The Summer Table

The Summer Table

If you follow interior trends in magazines and via pinterest or instagram, you will know that tablescaping has become a key part of entertaining style. So what is tablescaping? It is the arrangement of items on a table to produce an attractive and decorative effect, often with matching plates, bowls, etc. and items such as napkins, flowers, and candles. And how do you go about it?

Think about selecting pieces to complement the food and play to the season and trends of the moment.

It is an idea to keep things tonal. Choose a colour, try to tie it into the napkins, crockery, candles and flowers. Pink is a failsafe choice for any summer table and always makes alfresco dining feel celebratory, natural and fresh. Mix in scented summer flowers like peonies and garden roses. Our cranberry colour way from Hot Pottery and Wonkiware’s pink wash bit the perfect note. Serve rosé in relaxed glassware for an unforgettable summer soiree.

Hot Pottery has some fresher colour ways that work for a brighter scheme. Mix in bowls of heritage tomatoes or citrus fruits instead of flowers or try a potted chilli plant with the burnt orange or pistachio of these spatter ceramics much favoured by foodie influencers. Pull it all together with table linen from Danish brand Bungalow.

What ever them you go tag us in @aloftco so we can see how you are styling things.

Bon appetit from the Aloft Team.
