One of South Devon's Hidden Gems. Mothecmbe Beach.

If you follow us on Instagram you will have seen the stunning location for our latest shoot. The team had a gorgeous day at Mothecombe beach in South Devon.

Situated at the mouth of the Estuary, Mothecombe beach is nestled in a sheltered cove, with a freshwater stream which runs gently into the sea. At low tide, there is plenty of room for traditional beach games, picnics and sunbathing and for the more adventurous, the shallow waters are perfect for windsurfing, kitesurfing, bodyboarding and paddle boarding. It is a hidden gem.

Owned and maintained by the Flete Estate in South Devon which is the most spectacular setting for a holiday by the sea. It is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Heritage coast and Site of Special Scientific Interest and is alive with wonderful wild flowers, birds and animals. They have a range of self catering properties from a Grade 11 listed house sleeping 18, to rustic cabins.

We hired the super unique Beach House. Situated right above the beautiful sandy beach. Ideal for picnics with family and friends, warming up after a surf. You can toast some delicious crumpets on the open fire or fry some sausages and bacon, all whilst watching the waves crash on the shore right outside the door. We were lucky enough to have balmy Devon day and our gorgeous models enjoyed water melon and Aperols in the sun.

The beach itself is a 5 minute walk from the car park where you find the kooky School House restaurant. We refuelled with their delicious sour dough pizzas, sat in the quirky garden. The perfect back drop for our relaxed knitted good days crews. The Mediterranean influenced restaurant and takeaway is open from breakfast through to supper.

Just up the road is the amazing Surfing Cow Ice Cream. Made on the farm, you can enjoy these award winning gelatos in the fields overlooking the sea.

A busy but fun day for the Aloft with Beth and Kim bringing the vibes as always.
