"My fashion philosophy is, if you're not covered in dog hair, your life is empty.” - Elayne Boosler
If you're visiting Padstow, Aloft is most definitely a dog friendly shop. We are a team of serious dog lovers. In store we stock some fantastic Holebrook windproof jumpers and super cosy socks that are perfect additions to your winter wardrobe and for those blustery coastal dog walks.
Collectively, we agree, that our dogs are extremely special part's of our life. They have helped us through some of our most challenging times. Equally, they have given us some of our most cherished and funny memories. The unconditional love that our dogs offer so freely, at any time of the day or night, should never be taken for granted. Even after being shut out in the rain, those tails still wag when they see us, how special is that!
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” - Josh Billings
The team here at Aloft have owned boisterous Beagles, clever Collies and loyal Labradors. All of our dogs have adored the outdoors, walking, swimming, and just sniffing around the coast and countryside. We always think that the dogs living in, or being taken on holiday to, Cornwall are so lucky - it really is a dog's life isn't it!
Having met so many of your lovely dogs this summer, we thought we would put together a Cornish dog walking guide. We have created a list of our favourite dog walking spots in Cornwall. As we all know, taking your dog on holiday and UK staycations is now the "new norm"!
Of course, we appreciate there are so many wonderful places to walk in and around Padstow. So, as locals, we wanted to share a few new places to explore.
“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.” - Albert Einstein
The National Trust offers an array of fantastic walks around Cornwall. Here are a few of their beautiful locations the Aloft team love.
St Agnes Head
"Set on the cliff tops high above the Atlantic and in the shadow of the Beacon behind you, St Agnes Head was used as a light anti-aircraft artillery range in the Second World War and during the Napoleonic war it was a rifle range; this seemingly remote and peaceful spot has seen its fair share of activity over the years."

Godrevy
"Godrevy's awe-inspiring expanse of sandy beach leads on to wildlife rich headlands and the dramatic coves of the North Cliffs and Western Hill.
Set at the far end of St Ives Bay, Godrevy beach is popular for surfers, families, walkers, nature watchers and those who simply want to sit and admire the view."

Lantic Bay
"Climb down to the beach, or enjoy the cliff top views at Lantic Bay.
This unspoiled coast between Polruan and Polperro is a great walking country. The well-maintained coast path can be accessed by a network of other footpaths from inland. You can complete circular walks including coast, cliff, beach and woodland."

Bedruthan Steps
"This piece of coastline, just a few miles along the coast from Padstow, keeps itself hidden as you first enter the car park. However, take a short walk along the well established paths and you will be rewarded with views that are arguably some of the most impressive in Cornwall."
