As we move in to autumn our new stock of Holebrook windproofs have arrived in Padstow and Dartmouth stores. Made for life outdoors - and outside of fast fashion. Holebrook was born on the Swedish west coast and their first collection was knitted sweaters with a windproof elastic lining. Today, more than twenty years later, they are still part of the collection.
A favourite with our customers when the weather turns but it is not yet time for coats and waterproofs. They are super popular with our golfers. And we have some incredible golf courses nearby to our Padstow store.
One of the most renowned is Trevose Golf and Country Club which sits on one of the most iconic stretches of coastline in the UK. Opened in 1925, the Championship Course has hosted prestigious events like the Brabazon Trophy (2008), McGregor Trophy (2012), English Men’s County Finals (2017), and the inaugural Farmfoods European Legends Links Championship (2019). Consistently ranked among the top links courses in the British Isles, it offers a world-class golfing experience year-round.
On the other side of the Camel Estuary sits St Enodoc Golf Club occupying a stunning location in Rock. With picturesque Padstow on the far side, the Atlantic to the north. It sits amongst glorious, natural sand dunes with wonderful seaside views. The club is fortunate to have not one but two of the finest links courses in the South West. The timeless Mans and Claire are firm favourites with our golfers
With clear bright days and still some warmth in the sun, many boat owners choose to keep their boats in the water a little longer, particularly on the Salcombe and Kingsbridge estuary. Having been designed for the Swedish west coast where life revolves around the water, the windproofs are great alternative to bulky wet weather gear. With an extra panel of quilting the Peder and Mimmi are a great option.
Perfect too for walks on the South West Coast Path as they are made from natural, breathable, fibres so moisture can evaporate. Or just for enjoying being by the sea as fresh autumn breezes arrive.
