This Summer our Salcombe store had a one week transformation, as we opened our doors to Emily Powell's Summer Emporium.
We wanted to create a space that felt immersive, inspiring and full of summer energy — where colour palettes move from canvas to clothing, and where customers could experience fashion and art together in one relaxed coastal setting.
We met Emily at one of her workshops and soon realised we had a joint love of all things colour, and really wanted to find something we could collaborate on. So we came up with the plan to have her take over our store for Salcombe Regatta week.
Throughout the week Emily painted live throughout town, capturing the racing, the festivities of the week and all the amazing coast line and beaches surrounding Salcombe. These were then displayed in Aloft for the week, and Emily was on hand to talk through her work and also paint live whilst you could chat and talk to her about how she works.
Alongside this we showcased a full new-season collection from American Vintage — effortless layers, easy jersey pieces and the relaxed silhouettes they’re known for. We also offered an exclusive opportunity to preview and pre-order brand new styles before they officially went on sale for Autumn.
What an amazing week it was, something that will stay in our memories for ever. A collaboration of colour, fun, laughter and stunning paintings. We were so happy to be able to bring this to Salcombe for everyone to enjoy.
